An event promoting the culture and tourism of North China's Shanxi province was held in Bangkok, Thailand on April 10.

Thailand was the second stop in the Shanxi delegation's visit to Southeast Asia, after Singapore. The event aimed to further promote exchange and cooperation between Shanxi and Thailand in culture and tourism. 

Zhao Xin, deputy director of the China Cultural Center in Bangkok, said that Shanxi is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and rich in tourist attractions. She hoped that the cultural tourism promotional event will help Thai people to better understand Shanxi and strengthen cultural tourism exchange and cooperation between Shanxi and Thailand.

Before the event, the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism arranged for travel agencies in Shanxi and Thailand to carry out discussions so as to learn more about the needs of Thai tourists and provide them with targeted services.
