Shanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Institute was established in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on March 22. 

The institute was jointly established by the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism and Shanxi University. 

It will formulate a long-term working mechanism for the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in Shanxi, establish an integrated think tank platform between governments, industries, universities and institutes, and coordinate intangible cultural heritage protection with major national development strategies.
