Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, prime minister of Djibouti, awarded the Independence Day Medal to 12 members of China's 21st medical aid team to the African country on March 19 local time.

The team members from North China's Shanxi province went to Djibouti in January 2022 and they specialize in stomatology, otolaryngology and gastroenterology, laboratory medicine, ophthalmology, and traditional Chinese medicine.

Kamil said that despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, the medical team has won the respect and praise of Djibouti patients with its noble medical ethics, superb medical skills and dedication, for which the government and people of Djibouti are deeply grateful.

He expressed hope that the medical aid team to Djibouti will help deepen exchange and cooperation between the two countries in the field of medicine and healthcare, and benefit more people in Djibouti.
