Shanxi province's members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) submitted 104 proposals and 11 suggestions to the CPPCC National Committee during the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing on March 4-13.

The 23 Shanxi members of the CPPCC National Committee proposed ideas that focus on critical tasks brought up in the government work report as well as the province's status quo, fulfilling their roles as national political advisers. 

Among the proposals, five are joint proposals on developing geographical indications to help rural vitalization; strengthening the coordinated control of soil erosion in the middle reaches of the Yellow River and the Shanxi-Shaanxi Grand Canyon; strengthening the joint prevention and treatment of air pollution in the junction areas of Shanxi, Hebei, Shaanxi, and Henan provinces and Inner Mongolia autonomous region; improving supporting mechanisms to accelerate the development and construction of the new energy industry; and building the Yazhou Bay Laboratory (Shanxi) base to ensure seed safety.
