The Shanxi delegation to the National People's Congress (NPC) recently made a suggestion to increase subsidies and rewards for Shanxi's intelligent transformation of coal mines during the ongoing first session of the 14th NPC in Beijing, which runs from March 5 to 13. 

Shanxi has built 37 intelligent coal mines and 993 intelligent mining faces, reducing the labor intensity of workers and improving mining safety.

However, there is a large number of coal mines in Shanxi and coal accounts for a large proportion of the province's economy. Due to the difficulty and costs of intelligent coal mine construction as well as shortage of preferential policies supporting intelligent coal mining, enterprises in the province lack enthusiasm in the sector, which restricts the development of local intelligent coal mining. 

The NPC deputies from Shanxi suggested that the State give Shanxi financial and taxation support and increase funds to Shanxi in the construction and reconstruction of intelligent coal mines.
