CPPCC National Committee members from Shanxi discuss government work report

Members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from North China's Shanxi province recently expressed their opinions and suggestions for the government work report delivered during this year's two sessions being held in Beijing from March 4-13. 

The CPPCC National Committee members from Shanxi said that it is necessary to make plans to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the development of emerging industries, the green development of the coal industry and the rapid development of non-coal industries, and the integration of the digital economy and real economy. 

The government work report proposed the promotion of clean and efficient utilization and the technological research and development of coal resources, as technological innovation, resource integration and utilization, and deep coupling of energy in the field of clean and efficient coal utilization are facing a series of challenges. 

In February 2022, the central government approved the construction of the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory in Shanxi province to provide support for national energy security and to help achieve the "dual carbon" goals focusing on clean and efficient coal utilization. 

Sun Yuhan, a CPPCC National Committee member and president of the Shanxi Research Institute of Huairou Laboratory, suggested that the central government support the construction of scientific and technological infrastructure and institutional mechanism innovation.

The government work report also mentioned developing the digital economy. 

Zhao Suqing, another CPPCC National Committee member from Shanxi, suggested supporting the construction of a national integrated big data center in Shanxi due to its unique advantages in terms of location, energy, climate, network, industry and policies, and integrating Shanxi into the national computing power hub system.
