A conference on furthering industrial cooperation and exchanges between North China's Shanxi province and East China's Zhejiang province was sponsored by Shanxi's provincial authorities in Hangzhou, provincial capital of Zhejiang, on Feb 27.

The event aimed to provide a broad space for targeted business matchmaking and industrial transfers from the Yangtze River Delta region, while also realizing coordinated development, stated Yang Chunquan, director of Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau.

In addition to the advantages of culture, resources, ecology, location, and costs, Shanxi has comparative advantages in industrial development, Yang added. Shanxi province welcomes Zhejiang entrepreneurs to invest there as it has been promoting the development of 10 key industrial chains and the construction of 10 professional industrial towns.

At the conference, representatives from the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, the Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, and several development zones made investment promotions. Representatives from Shanxi-based enterprises, Zhejiang-based enterprises, and the Zhejiang Enterprise Union in Shanxi exchanged and shared experiences and opinions.

Representatives from Zhejiang-based enterprises that were attending the conference said that Shanxi's achievements in high-quality transformation and development, energy supply, investment advantages, and business environment are impressive. In the future, they hope to strengthen cooperation in order to digitally transform the traditional manufacturing industry, and strategic emerging industries such as new energy, artificial intelligence, and biological manufacturing.

In recent years, Shanxi and Zhejiang have had frequent cultural and economic exchanges and have developed a good foundation for cooperation. A large number of projects invested by Zhejiang-based business people have been introduced to and put into production in Shanxi.
