Shanxi sets up hydrogen energy industry alliance

The Shanxi Hydrogen Energy Industry Alliance was established in Lyuliang, North China's Shanxi province, on Feb 23.
The alliance is committed to becoming an exchange and cooperation platform to promote cross-industry and cross-regional collaborative innovation, resource sharing, and the application of the hydrogen energy industry in Shanxi. This alliance will also advance the integrated development of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, filling and application to enhance the overall competitiveness of the hydrogen energy industry in the province.
On the same day, the alliance elected nine council enterprises and three supervisory enterprises. Of note, 60 enterprises and institutes have since joined in the alliance.
Shanxi is rich in hydrogen resources and has a wide range of hydrogen energy application scenarios. In recent years, the province has attached great importance to the development of its hydrogen energy industry and regarded the industry chain as one of its 10 key industrial chains.
The city of Lyuliang ranked first in the province on the hydrogen energy development index.
It has formulated a medium and long-term development plan for its hydrogen energy industry, issued a series of supporting policies and measures, and set up a special 100 million yuan ($14.36 million) fund. The city has also introduced leading enterprises to jointly build R&D bases, and accelerated the construction of key hydrogen energy industrial chains and Xiaoyi Hydrogen Energy Professional Town.
