As Rain Water, the second solar term of the traditional Chinese solar calendar, started on Feb 19, farmers in Xinjiang county, Shanxi province are glad to see their plants in the greenhouses are growing well.

Rain Water signals the increase in rain and a rise in temperatures.

Photographers recently captured aerial photos of greenhouses lined up in neat rows – the landscape of early spring.

In recent years, the county has been promoting the steady growth of greenhouses for planting vegetables and fruits, building a main brand industry to accelerate rural revitalization and increase farmers' incomes.

So far, the county has finished planting vegetables and fruits in the greenhouses, with an area of 12,000 hectares. It is expected to achieve an annual output of nearly 800,000 metric tons valued at 2 billion yuan ($288.4 million).

The income from such facilities accounts for more than 46 percent of local farmers' disposable income.
