Since Feb 17, an invention from North China's Shanxi province has obtained patent rights in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The invention in question was designed by Guo Chunping, and is a technology for the online real-time monitoring and control of ground resistance in the coal mine safety sector.

Guo has been engaged in technical work in the front line of coal mines for a long time and led his team to tackle key problems in coal mine safety for over 20 years, achieving a series of outstanding results.

The new invention is capable of avoiding electric sparks during leakage tests, and greatly improves the reliability of underground power supply. This is the first technology to realize ground pole suspension blocking of a leakage protection device, while also featuring online monitoring and control capabilities.

In China, the invention has been applied to several coal mines by various enterprises.

Last August, the invention was granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The acquisition of patent rights from the eight countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative will help Shanxi strengthen scientific and technological cooperation with these countries, while simultaneously improving joint tech innovation capabilities.
