Shanxi announces energy development layout for 2023

North China's Shanxi province will accelerate the planning and construction of a new energy system, focus on enhancing the security and stability of the province's energy supply, and build a pilot region for energy reform.
Shanxi will accelerate the construction of green coal development and utilization bases. The province plans to start the construction of 16 coal mines and put another six coal mines into joint trial operation. It will further improve production efficiency, increase its coal supply capacity, and strengthen the management of medium- and long-term coal supply contracts, to guarantee the coal supply within and outside the province.
Within this year, the province will construct new energy collection stations in Ningwu and Zuoquan counties, set up 500 kV power grids in Jiexiu and Jishan counties, and add 30,000 new public charging spaces for electric vehicles.
The construction of gas fields in Zhengzhuang town, Linxian, Daning and Jixian counties will also be accelerated to ensure the sustained high yield of gas fields.
In addition, Shanxi will advance its local wind power and photovoltaic industries.
