Shanxi governor emphasizes further opening-up
Updated: 2023-02-16
Jin Xiangjun, governor of North China's Shanxi province, visited the local Taiyuan Wusu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Taiyuan International Mail Exchange Bureau and Zhongding Logistics Park on Feb 15 to investigate the development of the province into an inland hub of opening-up.
Taiyuan Wusu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which opened in December 2013, plays an important role in Shanxi's efforts to open up to the outside world, while the Taiyuan International Mail Exchange Bureau is a two-way import and export channel helping the province's international mail reach major countries around the world. Since it was put into operation in November 2016, Zhongding Logistics Park has built a multimodal transport network covering the whole country and reaching Europe and Asia.
Jin requested the bonded zone increase innovation in business processes, management models and informatization, cultivate and expand the airport economy, promote cross-border e-commerce, stimulate the vitality of foreign trade businesses, and boost foreign trade.
He also urged Taiyuan International Mail Exchange Bureau to expand in size, further enhance the function of its open platform, and advance the rapid growth of international mail business.
He said that Zhongding Logistics Park should further improve the quality of multimodal transport and smart logistics services, optimize the structure of cargo transportation, improve logistics operation efficiency, and reduce logistics costs to allow more of Shanxi's products to reach overseas markets.
