North China's Shanxi province and Sao Paulo State in Brazil on Sept 26 signed a protocol of intent online to cooperate in the field of their common interests. 

It's the first time that Shanxi and Sao Paulo State have signed a pragmatic cooperation agreement since the establishment of a friendly partnership in 2019. 

The latest development is said to mark a new page in the pragmatic cooperation between the two regions in terms of commerce and trade, agriculture, science and technology, and education. 

Sao Paulo is the most economically developed state in Brazil. The signing of the protocol is expected to play an important role in Shanxi in promoting international cooperation in agricultural products, energy industry development, machinery and equipment manufacturing.
