The 2022 Shanxi-Shaanxi-Henan Yellow River (Quwo) International Fruit and Vegetable Expo opened in Quwo county of Linfen city, North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 24.

This year's expo, themed on sustainability, technology, and future, had four exhibition halls and one exhibition area, and mainly showcased new technologies and achievements in the fruit and vegetable industry at home and abroad.

Now being held for the third time, the annual expo this year focused on the natural endowments, industrial advantages and market resources of Shanxi and Guangdong provinces for the first time.

At the opening ceremony, Quwo county signed contracts with enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and RCEP-related enterprises through video. A fruit and vegetable supply and marketing matchmaking event between Quwo and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at the expo.

Zhang Jiancheng, an official of the exchange and cooperation office of the Guangdong Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said he hoped the expo would allow the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shanxi to jointly expand the space for foreign trade development and create more opportunities for the development of the agricultural industries in the two regions.

This year's expo was held both online and offline simultaneously. It promoted and sold fresh fruits and vegetables, famous and high-quality specialties in Quwo, through live streams and broadcasts.

Quwo county in the Yellow River triangle area boasts fertile water and soil and developed agriculture. The standardized planting area of fruit and vegetables in the county has exceeded 90 percent, and the number of quality and organic agricultural products has reached 47. It has won 10 national honors, including becoming a National Modern Agriculture Demonstration Zone and a National Agricultural Product Quality and Safety County.
