The city of Changzhi in North China's Shanxi province, a part of the Taihang old revolutionary area, has established cooperation relation with Beijing, according to a work plan issued by the National Development and Reform Commission on June 7. 

The move is meant to establish a cooperation mechanism between developed provinces and cities and cities in old revolutionary areas, deepen regional cooperation, and promote the revitalization of old revolutionary areas. 

The plan clarifies five key tasks during the 2022-30 period, including promoting rural vitalization and new urbanization, improving infrastructure and basic public services, promoting environmental protection and restoration and green and low-carbon development, and jointly building industrial cooperation platforms and carriers. 

Four major measures will be taken to ensure the success of the plan, including improving the working mechanism, the joint formulation of a five-year plan for cooperation between paired cities, and increasing policy and financial support for the revitalization of old revolutionary areas.
