Shanxi province had 296,000 students sit this year's college entrance examination, or gaokao, on June 7 and 8.
Shanxi set up 10,152 testing rooms at 287 test sites in 117 regions, with each test site consisting of several isolated test rooms for medical observation.

Each test region has established a leading group for the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and emergency response during the gaokao, and has made arrangements for strong epidemic prevention and control measures at all test sites.
Each test site has brought in a medical professional as deputy chief tester to guide the preparation of epidemic prevention and control personnel, materials, and venues, and to refine epidemic prevention measures.
