The Datong municipal government and Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the high-quality development of the new energy industry in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on May 31.

According to the agreement, the two sides will work together to build a draught fan manufacturing and technological research and development base. 

As an important energy hub in China, the city of Datong has treated the new energy industry as a strategic emerging industry and put a strong focus on it in recent years. It has accelerated the construction of major new energy projects and preliminarily formed a new energy development model driven by wind, photovoltaic energy, hydroenergy, and geothermal and hydrogen energy. 

"I hope Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co will participate in the development of Datong's new energy industry and continue to expand its investment and industrial layout in the city," said Mayor Zhang Qiang. 

Datong will continue to optimize its business environment, expand investment promotion, accelerate the extension of the new energy industry, and work to enhance the benefits of the new energy industry.

Han Zhentang, chairman of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co, said that the company will take the signing of the agreement as an opportunity to carry out closer cooperation with Datong in new energy and advanced equipment manufacturing, so as to promote common development.
