The Foreign Affairs Office of Shanxi Provincial Government was invited to represent North China's Shanxi province to participate in the online plenary meeting of the Local Cooperation Council of the China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development Committee on April 21.

Representatives of Chinese and Russian members delivered speeches on new opportunities and new paths for China-Russia local cooperation, and reached broad consensus on promoting China and Russia's local cooperation and common development.

The Local Cooperation Council, one of the 16 councils under the China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, has 85 members consisting of 17 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China and 68 federal members from Russia. Shanxi joined the council in May 2020.
