Datong ranks No 1 in Shanxi in foreign trade growth

The foreign trade value of Datong in North China's Shanxi province increased 74.9 percent year-on-year to 6.97 billion yuan ($1.10 billion) in 2021, with its growth rate ranking first in the province, according to Datong customs. 

Imports and exports reached 2.35 billion yuan and 4.62 billion yuan, up 255.2 percent and 39 percent, respectively.

The imports and exports of both private and State-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the city maintained growth, and the foreign trade value of private enterprises grew 156.9 percent year-on-year to 4.59 billion yuan, accounting for 65.9 percent of the total value. The imports and exports of SOEs increased 12 percent year-on-year to 2.26 billion yuan, accounting for 32.4 percent of the total.

Imports and exports of electrical equipment, optical and inspection equipment, furniture, and meat products saw rapid growth. Imports and exports of integrated circuits and optical and inspection equipment were valued at 950 million yuan and 920 million yuan, respectively, up 13.6 percent and 13.3 percent year-on-year.
