North China's Shanxi province invested some 1.52 billion yuan ($239.75 million) in its follow-up support of relocated people in 2021. 

The province increased support in such areas as helping with employment, industrial development, ensuring overall improvements and bolstering construction of infrastructure.

To date, 467 industrial bases have been built in the resettlement areas, employing 63,400 people who have been lifted out of poverty. 

In the meantime, a total of 658 environmental sanitation facilities, 1,090 public municipal facilities, 802 public service facilities and 313 one-stop community service facilities have been constructed in the resettlement areas.
