Shanxi releases annual commerce development plan

North China's Shanxi province will roll out a series of measures to boost business, commerce and trade development this year, according to the Shanxi Department of Commerce on Jan 10.

The measures focus on the construction of development zones, investment promotion, high-quality development of foreign trade, expansion of trade in services, and the improvement of foreign investment and cooperation.

Shanxi will step up work on projects, optimize the business environment and introduce more investment to local development zones.

Reforms to the investment promotion system of investment promotion agencies will also be promoted. More investment promotion series activities will be carried out.

The province will expand foreign trade entities by developing cross-border e-commerce, establishing comprehensive foreign trade service platforms, exploring foreign trade potential enterprises, and introducing export-oriented manufacturing enterprises.

It will boost innovation of trade in services, build featured service export bases, and make good use of promotional platforms for trade in services.

In addition, the province plans to further integrate into national development strategies by participating in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening economic and trade exchange with Europe, America, Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. It will enhance the high-quality development of foreign investment, improve the competitive advantages of foreign investment and cooperation, and strengthen public service guarantees.
