A launch ceremony for joint project construction between Shanxi University and Xiaodian district in the city of Taiyuan was held at the university on Dec 17.

Representatives of National University Science Park of Shanxi University and the education bureau of Xiaodian district signed a strategic cooperation letter on behalf of the two sides at the ceremony.

Nearly 80 people from the bureau and the university, the Shanxi Association for Science and Technology, and primary and middle schools in Xiaodian district attended the ceremony. 

The joint projects are eight bases of college scientific and technological achievement transformation, undergraduate practice and internship, undergraduate aesthetic education, think tank cooperation, labor education, physical education, youth health education and hands-on inquiry based learning.

Sun Yan, vice-president of Shanxi University, said that the university will give full play to its academic strength, promote the co-development and sharing of educational resources, and provide strong talent guarantees and intellectual support for the district in basic educational development.
