The 33th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corp's Belt and Road joint laboratory was recently approved for construction by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

It is the first joint laboratory under the Belt and Road Initiative in Shanxi province.

Co-construction of joint laboratories is an important way of promoting scientific and technological cooperation between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. In 2017, China launched its Belt and Road scientific and technological innovation action plan to put 50 joint laboratories into operation within five years.

Shanxi has promoted scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges at home and abroad, and has supported the joint construction, cooperation, and exchanges of scientific research platforms with institutions at home and abroad since the beginning of 2021.

Next, Shanxi Department of Science and Technology will continue to work with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to explore new technologies, new businesses, and new industries, offering scientific and technological support for the high-quality development of Shanxi's economy.
