North China's Shanxi province recently rolled out a series of measures to further strengthen the management of express packaging and promote the green transformation of express packaging, according to a circular by Shanxi Provincial Postal Administration.

The circular regulates 19 supporting measures on express packaging regulations and standards, the management of e-commerce and express delivery regulations, the promotion of recyclable express packaging, and the recovery and disposal of express packaging waste. 

By 2022, 95 percent of the province's e-commerce express shipments should have no longer been re-packaged, and the number of recyclable express packaging applications should have reached 35,000. By 2025, e-commerce express shipments should have basically eliminated re-packaging and the number of recyclable packaging applications should have reached 50,000. 

All relevant government departments will strengthen coordination and policy convergence, summarize and promote effective management measures, business models, and system results in the green transformation of express packaging, and coordinate and solve problems in implementation. 

In addition, departments will promote the typical practices and work results of green transformation in express packaging.
