The Friendship Day 2021 event was held by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) in Beijing on July 10.

More than 1,000 people from 69 countries, including 18 countries' ambassadors to China and executives from 21 multinational companies, who attended the event, were given an immersive experience of traditional Chinese culture.

Liang Shujuan, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanxi Provincial Government, led a 45-member delegation from North China's Shanxi province to participate in the event.

Shanxi herbal tea, Liulin county's red dates, and Jixian county's apples, as well as intangible cultural heritage items from Shanxi, were on display at the event.

In the exhibition area for intangible heritage handicrafts, Zhongyang paper-cutting and embroidery, Xiangfen Taiping silk balls, and Pingyang pottery impressed international attendees, who also interacted with Shanxi folk artists and experienced the creation of folk art. They also enjoyed a Xiaoyi puppet show at the cultural performance site.

During the event, Liang Shujuan talked with ambassadors to China and invited them to attend the 2021 Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum to open in Shanxi in September.
