The 6th Cross-Straits Yan Emperor Economic, Trade, Cultural and Tourism Promotion Series commenced on April 27 in Gaoping, a county-level city in North China's Shanxi province.

The promotional series will run until the end of May and includes three major themed events: a folk ancestor worship ceremony, a cross-Straits forum on traditional Chinese medicine and a cross-Straits trade communication event.

Cross-Straits residents and overseas Chinese people can participate in the folk ancestor worship ceremony on May 19 at the Yan Emperor Mausoleum in Gaoping through on-site visits, online blessings or the live broadcast.

Gaoping is the hometown of the legendary Chinese emperor of pre-dynastic times – the Yan Emperor.

Since 2016, the city has held the promotional series, which has deeply explored the local culture and promoted the spirit of the Yan Emperor. The series has also built a platform for economic, trade and investment exchanges and promotion between Shanxi and Taiwan.
