Lu'an Anyi Electric Co, a subsidiary of Jinneng Holding Group -- based in Changzhi city, North China's Shanxi province -- recently developed the country's first intelligent power supply system targeting coal mines.

Conventional underground coal mine electrical equipment and transmissions mainly rely on electrical signals and standard optical cables. Intelligent electrical equipment, in current conditions, is reportedly affected by the incompatibility of communications ports and can't fully perform their functions.

The newly developed system completely solves the problems of incompatibility between the communications ports in traditional underground power supply systems -- and their overall obsolete management technology -- and provides equipment and technical support for the construction of intelligent mines.

"With the new system, we can remotely control the power supply equipment in a 100-meter underground mine, carry out data analysis and early warning of faults based on real-time multimedia data on underground equipment operations, thereby greatly improving coal mining safety," said Lian Chaoyang, a technician at the company.

At present, the system has entered its trial operations stage.

In addition, Lu'an Anyi Electric Co has also been accelerating the construction of a centralized control system platform, an underground intelligent power supply system, a safety management system of the power supply, related mobile phone applications, a cloud service management system and a setting calculation system.

These are expected to be put into use this year, to provide high-end and intelligent equipment and services for intelligent coal mining.
