The first e-commerce express industrial park in North China's Shanxi province – ZTO Express E-commerce Express Industrial Park – is now under construction, according to an announcement from ZTO Express Co on April 8.

The industrial park is being built in Qixian Economic Development Zone in Jinzhong city and has a planned construction area of about 306,000 square meters.

Development plans call for the construction of a headquarters building, an intelligent express distribution center, an express transshipment center, an air transshipment center, a cold chain logistics transshipment center and an intelligent storage center. Supporting auxiliary infrastructure such as parking lots will also be built.

Once completed in September 2022, the industrial park is expected to handle 3 billion pieces of express mail annually. It will greatly enhance the express logistics capacity of Shanxi's featured agricultural products, thereby providing strong support for rural revitalization.

Zhao Xiaolong, general manager of the Shanxi Management Center of ZTO Express, said that after the first phase of the industrial park is put into production, it is expected to provide 1,200 jobs.

Meanwhile, it will promote the gathering of the e-commerce industry and the development of the Belt and Road Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Industrial Cooperation Zone in Qixian county.
