Updated: 2021-04-07
City-level authorities in Shanxi province have stabilized employment and helped people to increase their enthusiasm for entrepreneurship since they began providing education on Party history.
Optimizing targeted public employment services
Xinzhou Women's Federation set up a special recruitment area for female jobseekers at the 2021 Xinzhou Labor Output Job Fair in Xinzhou city on March 9, with about 3,000 female jobseekers reaching preliminary employment intentions with employers.
Local job fairs have also set up online platforms, including official job-hunting websites and official WeChat accounts. Job seekers can inquire about the recruitment information on these platforms without registering, which has greatly facilitated communication between job seekers and employers in the city.
Improving vocational skills to broaden employment channels
Jincheng city's human resources and social security bureau has urged local enterprises to carry out vocational skills training focusing on 14 strategic emerging industrial clusters in Shanxi and five major industrial clusters in Jincheng.
"Since March, we have completed vocational skills improvement training for more than 300 employees in multiple professions as required, and feedback from trainees and employers is very good," said Wang Jinfang, vice-president of Jincheng Xiangda Vocational Training School.
Since January, the city has sent 7,517 laborers to work outside of Shanxi province after training, completing 99.17 percent of the target for the first quarter of the current year.
Revising policies to support entrepreneurship
The human resources and social security department of Changzhi city has amended the implementation measures for entrepreneurial secured loans. It has also expanded the target scope of business guarantee loans to encourage and support different social groups to realize self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The beneficiaries include registered urban unemployed people, people with difficulties finding employment, veterans, people released from prison, graduates of universities and colleges, migrant workers returning to their hometowns and farmers. All beneficiaries must be of working age and have good personal credit records.
Up to now, Changzhi has reviewed and issued 216 secured loans worth 30.08 million yuan ($4.59 million) for entrepreneurship, covering industries such as catering, medicine, decoration and home appliances, helping 612 people get jobs.
