The Shanxi Industrial Internet Industry Alliance -- which was recently established in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province -- is expected to make a major impact on technological innovation in the region moving forwards. 

The alliance is a cross-industry, open, non-profit industrial innovation and development platform. It was formed by companies, institutions, organizations, colleges and universities -- as well as scientific research institutes in the industrial internet sector -- both within and from outside Shanxi.

The alliance has 256 members and is being managed by the Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, as well as the Shanxi Communications Administration.

The new body is expected to promote the integrated development of the new generation of information technology and manufacturing, as well as to accelerate the integration of industry-university-research applications in the industrial internet sector.
