Shanxi airs broadcast on consumer rights
A television program themed around the protection of consumer rights was broadcast on Shanxi Radio and Television Channel on March 14 to mark World Consumer Rights Day, which fell on March 15.
The broadcast focused on the hot issues of consumer rights and analyzed consumer complaints throughout 2020.
The Shanxi Provincial Administration for Market Regulation and Shanxi Consumers Association jointly issued consumption tips: Consumers should fully understand consumer information and choose businesses with high consumer evaluation indexes; consume rationally and scientifically and avoid being credulous; beware of prepaid promotional recharge activities; and retain consumption vouchers to protect their rights.
Relevant government departments should ensure that consumers are able to consume with confidence while also reducing the burden on companies. These departments should strengthen research on new consumption patterns and business formats and promptly introduce relevant regulations to ensure market order.
The government should also enact regulations and measures to protect the rights of elderly consumers in the banking, communications and public transportation sectors.
Business operators are advised to run their operations honestly, strictly abide by the law, try their best to solve the problems faced by consumers, pay attention to brand reputation and improve consumer services. Businesses should also assume the responsibility of protecting consumers' rights while maintaining their own sustainable development.
