North China's Shanxi province added 13,750 5G base stations in 2020, with all of the province's 117 counties having built 5G base stations, according to an announcement from Shanxi Communications Administration on Jan 25.

In the past year, Shanxi outlined the 5G network layout, promoted 5G applications, and achieved the annual goal of continuous 5G network coverage in the central urban areas of 11 cities in the province. The users of 5G services increased to 3.79 million households.

Going forward, Shanxi Communications Administration will urge telecom operators to improve services such as network signals, marketing specifications, and business management.
