Shanxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Shanxi herbal tea's industrial development with the Faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environment Sciences at Zhejiang University.

The contract's signing was a concrete action to implement the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Shanxi Provincial Government and Zhejiang University.

The agreement mainly focuses on the formulation of industrial standards for Shanxi herbal tea, research on herbal tea's health effects, training of technicians and brand culture construction.

The two sides will develop technologies by integrating the strengths of Zhejiang University, Hunan Agricultural University, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Hangzhou Tea Research Institute of China COOP and the China International Tea Culture Institute.

They will carry out specific cooperation in implementing projects and subject research to enhance Shanxi's herbal tea industry's technological content, cultural influence and market competitiveness.

In the future, Shanxi and Zhejiang University are expected to cooperate on controlled-environment agriculture.
