Shanxi unveils top 100 private enterprises of 2020

The top 100 private enterprises of 2020 in North China's Shanxi province were unveiled on Sept 16 at a news conference held by Shanxi Federation of Industry and Commerce and Taiyuan branch of China Minsheng Bank in the provincial capital of Taiyuan. 

The entry threshold for this year's top 100 private enterprises was annual revenue of 1.61 billion yuan ($237.89 million), representing year-on-year growth of 14.92 percent and realizing growth for four consecutive years.

The combined revenue of this year's top 100 private enterprises topped 600 billion yuan, with average annual revenue of 6.07 billion yuan.

Shanxi Jianlong Iron and Steel Co topped the list again with the annual revenue of 52.84 billion yuan, up 67.36 percent year-on-year. It was the first time that the company had exceeded 50 billion yuan in annual revenue. 

The news conference also announced the lists of Shanxi's top 20 private enterprises in the manufacturing industry, top 20 private enterprises in the service industry and the 20 most promising enterprises in 2020, as well as released a research and analysis report on the top 100 private enterprises.

The report indicated that a number of policies and measures issued by Shanxi in 2019 optimized the local business environment and promoted the development of the private sector of its economy.

In 2019, the added value of the private sector amounted to 833.38 billion yuan, up 8.5 percent year-on-year and accounting for 48.9 percent of Shanxi’s gross domestic product.
