Shanxi progresses its healthcare security services

Residents of North China's Shanxi province and its 11 cities completed records for inter-provincial off-site medical treatment on the National Healthcare Security Service Platform on May 22, being the first province to enable access to off-site medical treatment on the platform in China.

With off-site medical treatment, people can pay fees directly with their healthcare security cards when receiving medical treatment out of their home provinces.

Medical insurance participants can download applications from the National Healthcare Security Service Platform, follow the official account of Shanxi Healthcare Security -- or search the mini-program named Off-site Medical Treatment Record on WeChat, a Chinese social networking app -- to complete self-service off-site medical treatment records.

Once the record is completed, they can settle accounts directly with their healthcare security cards when receiving medical treatment or being hospitalized out of Shanxi.

In addition, more information such as contacts at government healthcare security departments, off-site medical treatment records and direct settlement costs can be queried by logging onto fuwu.nhsa.gov.cn.
