A total of 17 hospitals in Shanxi province are providing medical services through Chinese social media platform WeChat, according to hospital officials. 

These consist of eight hospitals in Taiyuan, three in Datong, one in Yuncheng, two in Yangquan, one in Jinzhong, one in Jincheng and one in Linfen. 

Users can choose a hospital according to their own situation, view the profiles of all doctors in different departments and make appointments through WeChat. 

WeChat reminder messages will be sent once appointments are approved. 

Currently, the 17 hospitals offer appointments, medical consultations, treatment payments and checkup report inquiry services through the platform.
