A seminar on the coordinated development of Shanxi province and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region took place in Taiyuan city in Shanxi province on Nov 25, according to local officials.

Among those there were representatives from the National Development and Reform Commission, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei province, Shanxi province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

They discussed regional cooperation and put forward suggestions for regional coordinated development based on promoting the advantages enjoyed by Shanxi in terms of its resources, geography, ecology and culture. 

The seminar also saw joint ventures worth 20 billion yuan ($2.84 billion) signed between Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. 

Officials said the joint projects involve among others geothermal power generation, the comprehensive utilization of geothermal energy, the big data industry, eco-tourism resorts as well as industrial parks in the Xiongan New Area.
