A Shanxi-Brazil enterprise business matchmaking conference was held to great success in Shanghai on Nov 6, according to the organizers. 

They said a wide range of participants took part in the event. 

These included about 80 representatives of commerce and investment promotion departments from Shanxi, the Brazil Sao Paulo Industrial Union, the China-Brazil Investment Development and Trade Center -- as well as Brazil companies and Shanxi catering exhibitors attending the ongoing second China International Import Expo in Shanghai. 

Officials said the Shanxi Commerce Department gave a briefing on the overall investment environment of Shanxi to attendees -- from the perspective of its business environment, entrepreneurial platforms, costs and recruitment policies. 

Zhang Baomin, deputy director of the Shanxi Commerce Department, pledged that all investment promotion government departments in Shanxi -- as the "first window" to the outside world for the province -- would provide comprehensive and whole-process assistance and services to all investors. 

Shanxi has entered a rapid stage of development and is further opening up.

Partnerships between China and Brazil have created more opportunities and space for Shanxi to carry out cooperation with Brazil, according to representatives of the Brazil Sao Paulo Industrial Union and the China-Brazil Investment Development and Trade Center. 

Shanxi and Brazilian companies -- in the agricultural and associated products, candy, liquor, soft drinks, food and vinegar sectors -- conducted business negotiations after the conference.
