The 2nd Yuncheng Special Medicine Trade Fair opened in Yuncheng city in Shanxi province on Sept 16. 

With its theme of developing special medicines and boosting health care in China, the fair aims to improve the reputation, influence and competitiveness of the city's special medicine brands. 

More than 130 medical institutes and pharma companies are displaying more than 20,000 exhibits in over 1,000 categories in the 140 stands at the fair, whose total exhibition area covers over 10,000 square meters. 

The fair consists of five sections -- including one for special medicines, another for the medicine industry and others for traditional Chinese medicine planting and green health care. 

Organizers said there is also a forum themed on healthy aging, which invites experts to explain national and provincial policies related to aging topics. 

The special medicines sector mainly demonstrates special medical techniques, medicines, operations and treatment. 

The pharmaceutical industry sector showcases different types of drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, health products, and Shanxi's famous medicine. It also has health products and cosmetics lectures. 

Yuncheng's traditional Chinese medicine products are being shown at the traditional Chinese medicine planting section. The green health care section shows 16 health care projects. 

In recent years, Yuncheng has attached a great deal of importance on the development of the health and medicine industry. In May, it was recognized by the State Council for its comprehensive public hospital reform.
