The modern pentathlon competitions for the 2nd National Youth Games were held in Jincheng, in Shanxi province, from Aug 11-17.

The sport program was divided into sports school and professional sports club categories consisted of 31 individual, group and mixed relay events. 

A total of 194 athletes from across China competed for 31 gold medals with the Shanxi province's team taking six golds, 11 silvers and eight bronze medals. 

The organizing committee of the 2nd National Youth Games also gave five teams, three judges and 19 athletes sport ethic awards after the finals.
