The torch relay of the 2nd National Youth Games concluded in Shanxi Sports Center in Jinyuan district, Taiyuan, in Shanxi province, on Aug 6. 

The 70-day relay -- from the Xihoudu Ruins in Ruicheng county to the sports center in Taiyuan -- passed 108 stops across 11 cities in Shanxi province with 3,462 torchbearers taking part. The flame of the games will finally be lit at the opening ceremony in the sports center on Aug 8. 

Jinyuan district, where the major venue and the athlete village, are located has a long history and rich culture. There are 233 cultural relics and historic sites, as well as 31 intangible cultural heritage items in the district. 

In recent years, the district has been developing its cultural and tourist brands and advancing its industrial structure optimization in four local industrial clusters -- namely Changfeng Business District, Jinyang Lake scenic area, Jinyuan New City and Yaocun Emerging Industrial Park -- with economic growth ranking first in Taiyuan for three consecutive years.
