The east square of Taiyuan South Railway Station opened on July 25.

The square covers an area of 15.8 hectares and includes an overpass drop-off area, underground parking lots, a bus station, a coach station, and a metro station. 

The overpass drop-off area includes 14 automatic ticket machines on the north and south sides. It is located at the entrance of the station. 

The ticket office is located at the northeast corner of the first floor of the east square. After buying tickets, passengers can take the nearby escalator or elevator to the second floor. 

The east square houses 10 self-service ticketing barriers and two manual ticket-checking channels. Three additional self-service ticketing barriers and two additional manual ticket-checking channels will open during travel seasons. 

There are also 12 self-service ticketing barriers and one manual ticket-checking channel at the east square exit. 

The bus station is located on the north side of the east square and offers routes Nos 849, 79, and 807.
