The Yangquan stretch of the torch relay for the 2nd National Youth Games began in the city's Nanshan Park on June 21.

The torch will be carried though the city until June 24 and will be carried through four local counties and districts by 200 torchbearers.

The 2nd National Youth Games, to be held in August, is the largest and most comprehensive sporting event to ever be held in Shanxi province.

Yangquan is responsible for the torch relay and archery events of the national youth games.

The torch relay, which has already passed through the cities of Yuncheng, Linfen, Jincheng, Changzhi, and Jinzhong in Shanxi province, will last until August 8.
