Linfen Economic Development Area (临汾经济开发区) opened in 1998 and is situated in the northwest of Linfen city, Shanxi province. It was enlarged to a total area of 133.2 square kilometers in 2017.

The development area is home to companies involved in modern finance, commercial services, and e-commerce, as well as hosting the headquarters of many firms. 

The area's Ganting Industrial Park has formed five major industrial bases, namely a precision manufacturing base represented by Huaxiang Group, a new energy vehicle base represented by OptimumNano Energy Co, a new materials base represented by Linfen Hongding New Material Technology Co, a modern logistics base and a photovoltaic industrial base.

The development area now plans to construct nine industrial parks covering fields such as modern equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, aerospace, logistics, and medicine.
