Over 75 square kilometers in Jinzhong city's Jiexiu county in central Shanxi province, Mianshan Mountain is the birthplace of the Tomb Sweeping or Hanshi Festival, a national intangible cultural heritage and an important Chinese tradition honoring ancestors. 

Mianshan Mountain is also called Jieshan Mountain after Jie Zhitui, an aristocrat of the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476BC), who once lived here.

Famous for its natural scenery and its cultural relics, the mountain is a national 5A scenic area with 14 tourist spots. Visitors can learn about Cold Food, Buddhist and Taoist culture, military training and fitness at the scenic area.
