Datong enhances medical insurance services
Since last year, it has become common to see Datong residents managing their medical insurance needs at community health service centers, township health centers, and village clinics.
This is a testament to the proactive efforts of the authorities in promoting the "15-Minute Medical Insurance Service Circle".
"I could handle my insurance needs right at the community health service center. No more long trips, policies are clearly explained, and the staff members are so patient and friendly," praised Li Fu, a resident of Pingcheng district, after completing his business at the nearby service station.
According to a local official, this initiative extends high-frequency services such as medical insurance information inquiries and urban-rural resident insurance registration to villages and communities, providing more convenient and high-quality public medical insurance services to residents.
"The medical insurance service stations also handle queries, policy consultations, personal account balance inquiries, and special services for those over 80, disabled individuals, and left-behind children whose parents work in urban areas," explained a staff member.
Service stations also use WeChat groups, electronic screens, and door-to-door visits. They engage with the community, answer questions, and guide residents to use local, online, and mobile services, truly achieving "more information movement, less resident travel".
The city has established 459 medical insurance service stations, covering 10 counties and districts, 119 towns (subdistricts), and over 250 villages. These stations serve more than 85 percent of the population and benefit nearly 73,000 residents.
