Shanxi establishes foundation to preserve Yungang Grottoes

The establishment of the Shanxi Lingyan Yungang Grottoes Conservation Foundation marks a significant step forward in preserving and utilizing the ancient cultural heritage site. The foundation, which was approved by the Shanxi Provincial Civil Affairs Department on Dec 13, operates under the guidance of the Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau.
The foundation is committed to advancing the protection, research, and sustainable use of the Yungang Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exquisite Buddhist carvings. It welcomes voluntary donations from individuals, organizations, and institutions passionate about heritage preservation.
