Shanxi province recently issued its inaugural "Data Intellectual Property Registration Certificate" for the "3D Model Dataset of the Main Body of Cave 13 of Yungang Grottoes", marking a milestone in the digital preservation of this cultural heritage.
This dataset, registered by the Yungang Research Institute on Shanxi's data IP registration platform, is a pioneering example of data intellectual property aimed at enhancing the accessibility and conservation of the Yungang Grottoes through modern technology.
This initiative, part of Shanxi's broader data IP registration pilot program, demonstrates the potential for industrializing data assets with extensive applications in research, digital archiving, and cultural display. The Shanxi Market Supervision Bureau has spearheaded efforts to protect and utilize data IP by developing robust registration protocols and fostering industry innovation.

With guidance from local authorities, the Yungang Research Institute has created a comprehensive 3D model of the Yungang Grottoes using advanced technology. This model enables detailed cultural preservation, archeological analysis, and public exhibitions. This dataset preserves vital historical resources and aligns with Shanxi's vision for integrating digital and traditional economies, strengthening its competitive edge in digital asset utilization.
This registration signals a breakthrough in data IP protection. It promotes the digital economy as a core driver of Shanxi's high-quality growth and sets a model for further industry integration.
