Shanxi welcomes National Day holiday with booming tourism
According to various online tourism platforms, online tourism bookings for North China's Shanxi province have been on the rise as the National Day holiday approaches, with expectations of leading nationwide visitor numbers.
As of Sept 23, data from Trip Group showed a 26-percent year-on-year growth in Shanxi tourism bookings, with rural tours spiking by 109 percent. LY.com indicates a 32-percent rise in Shanxi tourism interest. Cities like Datong, Yuncheng, Xinzhou, and Jincheng have seen over a 50-percent increase in travel interest.
According to Fliggy's analysis, Taiyuan, Datong, Yuncheng, Linfen, and Jinzhong are hotspots for National Day holiday bookings, with Shuozhou the national leader in terms of growth rate.
For ticket reservations, Meituan's visitor data profiles reveal that visitors of all ages favor exhibition halls and cultural heritage sites in Shanxi. Exhibition hall tickets account for 34.5 percent of total bookings, while cultural heritage sites make up 34.2 percent.
The top five Shanxi attractions for ticket reservations, according to Trip Group, include Jinci Temple Museum, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, Xiaoxitian, Pingyao Ancient City, and Qiao's Grand Courtyard. The Tongcheng Travel platform notes a rapid rise in ticket interest for Shanxi's ancient architectural sites.
Sun Weili, regional general manager of Trip Group, stated that Shanxi's rich cultural history and diverse tourism offerings enable the platform to customize local tourism products and collaborate with attractions to create diverse and personalized travel experiences based on visitor preferences.
