On June 26, under the supervision of Datong customs, the first Datong-Moscow China-Europe freight train officially departed, exiting through the Alashankou border and expected to reach Moscow in 15 days.

It marked the first China-Europe freight train from the prefecture-level city of Datong city in three years.

The train, loaded with 110 containers, is shipping s household appliances such as electric ovens, water heaters and gas stoves, valued at 14.46 million yuan ($1.99 million).

China-Europe freight trains are deemed to be crucial for enhancing trade between China and Europe. In recent years, Datong customs has fully supported Datong city's integration into the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, aiming to establish it as a key inland open gateway.

To ensure efficient and speedy customs clearances for the Datong-Moscow train, Datong customs set up a fast-track service window, appointed dedicated personnel and provided 24/7 reservation services.

The customs office also conducted pre-departure surveys to understand clearance plans, explain relevant policies and regulations to enterprises and guided them in proper declarations.

Additionally, communications with border customs were strengthened to implement targeted service measures supporting China-Europe freight trains.

Moving forwards, plans are for Datong customs to continue to collaborate with government departments and enterprises to enhance the railway transportation hub's services.

The effort aims to help the Datong International Land Port's bonded logistics center add new operational routes, promote its bonded functions and increase the freight train's capacity – contributing to the stable growth and quality of Datong’s foreign trade.
